Abstract
In following paper, firstly we have considered a 2-hop relay network in which more than one relay is accessible. And then analysis of relay selection for the decode-and-forward cooperative protocol for minimizing the outage probability over a short-term power constraint is done. Investigation of effect of power control in selecting a relay from view of capacity is done. Here an assumption is made that information about channel gain is available and then a relay selection scheme using power control is applied. Every potential relay's ability for cooperation is measured after the allocation of power between the relay and the source node. Relay which optimizes the mutual information in between the source node and destination node is chosen for cooperation. Next, we have proposed a much simple distributed power allocation strategy, called as single relay model in which only a single relay forwards the source data to destination. This model is influenced by restrictions on the accessible channel state information and also the simplicity in implementation on comparison with other strategies involving allocation of power. Simulations are done to check the effectiveness of proposed schemes for allocating the power.
