In the food sector, the problem of food fraud—which encompasses the more focused category of adulteration driven by economic gain—is becoming more widely acknowledged and is raising concerns. Both the government and the industry are accountable for avoiding food adulteration, regardless of where the food danger originated. Food adulteration can result from incidents concerning food safety, food fraud, and food defence, which poses serious risks to the general public's health. In contrast to inadvertent injury in food safety events and intentional harm in food defence incidents, food fraud entails intentional activities for financial gain. Although financially motivated adulteration may have financial motivations, the unusual nature of contaminants frequently makes the related public health hazards more dangerous than traditional food safety threats. Establishing and executing a database that aggregates reports of food component fraud available for publicly accessible sources is an essential task. For governments, agencies, and individual enterprises assessing the possible dangers associated with certain items created in specific regions and those disseminated and sold elsewhere, this database provides essential information and useful data. The paper also describes current analytical tools for identifying food fraud and highlights new developments and trends in the food production industry and the food production bad sector.

This comprehensive study focus into various facets of food safety, covering controversial topics such as the bisphenol A (BPA) tolerable daily intake set by EFSA and challenges in aggregating data from food allergen immunotherapy trials. It also explores the evaluation of isomaltulose syrup as a novel food and emphasises the significance of a One Health perspective in addressing pathogenic Clostridia. Additionally, the study highlights the pivotal role of genomic resources in understanding persistence and virulence. Through a multidisciplinary lens, the study provides insights into current advancements, offering a scientific understanding of the evolving landscape of food safety.

Cancer remains a formidable global health challenge, necessitating sustained research efforts to develop innovative and efficacious therapeutic modalities. The exploration of alternative cancer therapies has gained prominence, given the adverse side effects associated with conventional treatments like chemotherapy. Natural medicines, particularly those derived from botanical sources, emerge as a potentially more viable option for cancer treatment within the confines of therapeutic and safe dosage parameters. This comprehensive review elucidates the effective mechanisms and safety profiles related to the dosage of these natural compounds. The literature under consideration spans and has been meticulously curated from reputable databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Noteworthy natural substances encompassed in this scrutiny include gossypol, curcumin, resveratrol, genistein, anthocyanin, and hispidulin. The review outlines their respective mechanisms, therapeutic dosages, and safety perspectives within the context of cancer treatment. These compounds manifest diverse anticancer effects, ranging from the induction of apoptosis and inhibition of cell proliferation to the modulation of crucial signaling pathways. These natural compounds exhibit promising anticancer potential by targeting key facets of cancer progression, notably by i) instigating apoptosis and ii) intervening in cell cycle checkpoints. However, a more strategic and nuanced investigation is imperative to fully elucidate their optimal dosages, modes of action, and potential synergies with existing cancer treatment modalities. This critical gap in our understanding underscores the necessity for further in-depth research to optimize the therapeutic potential of these plant-derived chemicals.
