Zadeh, Mamdani and TSK are proposed different fuzzy conditional inferences for "if ... then ... ". These Zadeh and Mamdani fuzzy conditional inference are required prior information for both precedent and consequent part. Zadeh defined fuzzy set with single membership function. Fuzzy set with two membership function will give more evidence than single membership function. In this paper, fuzzy conditional inference is studied for "if ... then ..." when prior information is not available for consequent part. Generalized fuzzy certainty factor is proposed for fuzzy set with two membership function. Fuzzy medial expert system is given as an application.

An adaptive fuzzy magnetic suspension vibrator is designed and embedded into foot robot to promote its shock absorbing ability. Magnetic levitation system (MLS), using the electromagnetic force to float, rotate or move suspended object, is a non-contact operation mode. This mode can effectively reduce the mechanical vibrations, friction and wearing loss caused by contact operation. Furthermore, it can also prolong the equipment's life, reduce maintenance frequency and noise. However, the MLSs possess the characteristics of nonlinear and dynamic properties, so an adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode controller (AFSMC) for magnetic suspension vibrator is proposed in this study. With the help of magnetic suspension vibrator, the foot robot can steer in a bumpy road and provide more comfortable riding environment.

This paper proposed a prediction method of meat quality grade from an ultrasound image of Korean native cattle using neural network. Systematic way of meat quality to prediction of grade in Korean native cattle is one of important technologies of total quality control. An improvement rate is increased by prediction of a meat quality and amount of meat without butchery. Shipping date and feeding schedule are able to control through prediction information on a farm. However, the hitherto subject for biometrics information has not been studied in domestic. So, it proposes prediction method of meat quality using neural network algorithms with the ultrasound image. Experiment results compared with real grades, and total prediction rate of the proposed method have been checked 83.33 percent.

In this paper, we present the design of temperature control for industrial heat treating furnace by using Intelligent Fuzzy Logic and PID controllers. Temperature control is important in heating processes as it can disqualify materials in terms of their physical properties when not well performed. Obviously PID temperature controller is the most used in industries to control non-linear processes. Consequently, it has been found that the output response from Fuzzy Logic is very accurate in terms of overshoot and steady state error when compared to that of PID. Moreover, both temperature controllers are modeled and simulated using MATLAB software.

This study proposes a real-time abnormal heartbeat detection and emergency system for helping users to obtain immediate rescue and treatment in a short period of time when they suffer from severe heart disease, for example, acute myocardial infarction (MI) or fatal malignant arrhythmia. The proposed system can detect abnormal heartbeat waveforms and automatically send out emergency signals. The detection of abnormal heartbeat waveforms is based on the cross-correlation analysis between the normal heartbeat sample and each of the input heartbeats. The normal heartbeat can be manually selected by the user or automatically selected by the program. An abnormal heartbeat is detected if the cross-correlation coefficient is less than 60%. The abnormal heartbeats from the MIT-BIH malignant ventricular arrhythmia database and MIT-BIH arrhythmia database were enrolled the MIT-BIH malignant ventricular arrhythmia database to test the performance of the proposed system. If an abnormal heartbeat is detected, the system will automatically make a phone call and send out a message to the emergency contact person. This message contains the address and GPS coordinates of the user's current position so as to shorten the rescue time. The proposed system also records the original heartbeat waveforms before and after abnormal heartbeats are detected for future medical reference. Moreover, the user's walking path with GPS coordinates and real-time heartbeat waveforms can be monitored by the cloud system to provide more rescue information.

In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy exponential sliding-mode control (AFESMC) system, which is composed of a computation controller and an exponential compensator, is proposed for a voice coil motor (VCM). Within the computation controller, a fuzzy observer with an online structure and parameter learning ability is used to online approximate an unknown nonlinear term of the system dynamics. The exponential compensator not only can eliminate the effect of the approximation error introduced. Finally, a 32-bit ARM Cortex-m4 microcontroller is used to implement the control scheme. The experimental results show that the AFESMC system can achieve favorable tracking performance and is robust against payload variations and change in reference speed of VCM applications.

This paper proposes a recurrent fuzzy neural network (RFNN) for speech detection. The underlying notion of the proposed RFNN is to consider minimum classification error (MCE) and minimum training error (MTE). The weights of RFNN are updated by maximizing the discrimination among different classes in MCE. Besides, the parameter learning adopts the gradient descent method to reduce the cost function in MTE. Therefore, the novelty of this paper is to minimize the cost function and maximize the discriminative capability. Finally, the experiment of speech detection is applied to test the proposed RFNN, the results show that the proposed RFNN exhibits excellent classification performance.

Computer programs are now acceptable in Medicine. Artificial Intelligence in Medicine will perform better medical diagnosis and better surgery. Surgery intelligence is supporting system for the surgeon to take decision. Information available to the surgery is incomplete. The fuzzy logic deals incomplete information with belief rather than likelihood (probability). In this paper, fuzzy conditional inference is discussed. The fuzzy logic with two membership functions will give more evidence than single membership function. Generalized fuzzy logic is discussed with two membership functions. Generalized fuzzy certainty factor is discussed to eliminate conflict between two membership functions. The medical diagnosis is studied as an example. The fuzzy decision set is studied for decision making. The surgery intelligence is studied as an application.

Multi-hop relay network systems are expected to extend the coverage area and improve data transmission rate by deploying some relay stations. Relay selection is one of the most important features for the portable devices to obtain a quality-of-service (QoS) guarantee in such environments. In order to provide reasonable QoS guarantees for multi-hop relay network systems, efficient relay selection scheme cand corresponding algorithm must be developed and designed. A novel relay selection scheme is proposed in this paper to choose the suitable connection links by taking into account the traffic demand of mobile station and the signal-to-noise ratio among the mobile station, the relay station, and the base station. The main idea of this scheme is to avoid the unnecessary detour for the mobile station in the wireless mobile communication networks. The network throughput is extended by balancing the network loading. Based on the existing network conditions, the proposed scheme makes an adaptive decision for the relay selection in the systems. Simulation results indicate the superior performance of our propose algorithm to strike the appropriate performance in the network throughput and the data transmission time for a multi-hop relay network system.
