Philosophical thought is usually located far away from everyday life. Kotarbiński’s philosophical concepts are different. The principles of praxeology formulated by him are used to manage the enterprise and to manage oneself. In both cases the most important are measurable goal, reflection, simplicity and the use of proven solutions. Kotarbiński’s thought contains also reference to morality, so presented in the way that it does not interfere with the instrumental nature of praxeology and does not obscure the aim of human activities. A very similar approach to efficiency appears in the textbooks of management and in guides which teach individuals how to construct their life strategies.

The Polish educational system more and more often shows its dramatic deficiencies. The most serious objection is that schools teach badly. This is partly due https://doi.org/10.36228/PJ.9/2019.9 172 Elżbieta Jaszczurowska, Mirosław Laszczak to the weakness of the teachers themselves, and partly because of the poor school management. The presented article indicates the main sources of weakness in Polish education and – first of all – it hints on how the system could be improved. Among many important factors is a change of approach to the education and upbringing process. Priorities are unchanged, but present time force teachers to use other educational methods. A positive feature of a small school has been shown, and above all the article draws attention to the role of a teacher who, full of passion, should discover infinitely beautiful world of knowledge for young people.
