Mutual funds, as significant participants in financial markets, play a crucial role in the formation of asset pricing. The relationship between herding behavior of mutual funds and mispricing has been a subject of intense debate among scholars. In this paper, we investigate the asymmetric impact of mutual fund herding on price deviation and explore the underlying mechanism. In terms of research design, this study selects relevant data on mutual fund holdings and stock trading in the Chinese A-share market from 2010 to 2023, we examine whether herding behavior leads to mispricing, specifically focusing on the asymmetric effects of herding buying and herding selling on stock price deviation from intrinsic value. This study distinguishes the trading direction of mutual fund herding behavior and separately examines the relationship between herding buying behavior and herding selling behavior with stock price deviation. Our empirical findings reveal that buying herding behavior is linked to positive price deviations from intrinsic value. However, selling herding behavior shows no significant relationship with price deviation. Furthermore, our results provide evidence that the herding buying of mutual funds stimulates similar trading sentiments among other market participants and contributes to the formation of market bubbles, while herding selling prompts counterbalancing trades, mitigating the impact of price deviation.

Fraud in financial statements can have an impact on the accuracy and reliability of the use of financial statements, including affecting the amount of tax, fines paid, and the audit process. This study aims to analyze the effect of pressure, arrogance and collusion on financial statement fraud and the role of income tax rates as a moderating variable in non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2020-2022. The data in this study consisted of 207 research observations determined using purposive sampling method. Data collection was conducted through document analysis, using annual financial reports and annual reports. The analytical technique employed was regression analysis, moderated by Eviews. The study commenced with a descriptive statistical analysis, followed by an examination of the classical assumptions, including multicollinearity and heteroskedasticity. Finally, an analysis of moderated regression was conducted. The results of the regression analysis indicated that pressure, arrogance, and collusion were found to influence financial statement fraud. The moderated regression analysis demonstrated that the income tax rate was capable of moderating the influence of pressure, arrogance, and collusion on financial statement fraud. The theoretical implications of this study offer a novel perspective on the moderating effect of income tax rates on the relationship between pressure, arrogance and collusion and financial statement fraud. This study is of practical value and provides information that can inform decision-making for stakeholders.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of industry extension service projects on the performance of micro and small enterprises. Thus, the study utilized an explanatory and descriptive research design to achieve the objectives of the research. The study targeted MSEs that had been in operation for more than two years at the time of the study. The research had a total population of 606 MSEs, out of which a sample size of 241 operators was realized using Taro Yamane’s formula. Thus, a stratified sampling technique and simple random sampling were employed to select representative samples. Beside, primary and secondary data were used in the study. The analysis was conducted using SPSS version 20 on 223 fully responded questionnaires. The data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. In addition to this, correlation and regression models were used to analyze the variables of the study. The finding proved that IESP support provided by TVET trainers to MSEs was not adequate. Regression analysis indicated that entrepreneurship, technology, kaizen, and technical skill support had a positive and significant relationship with the performance of MSEs. Thus, it is recommended that the TVET College should provide regular industry extension service support to MSEs through four packages.

The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of various economic growth and employment approaches that have been popular throughout economic history, with a focus on linking and delinking aspects of GDP and employment in the Indian economy. The semi-log quadratic model was used for the trends of GDP and employment across the selected countries. For the determination of the linkages between the variables, the Granger causality test promulgated by Engel and Granger (1987), and the maximum likelihood-based technique of Johansen and Julius (1990) and Johansen (1992) were used in the study. The results found that employment and GDP are two different aspects of an economy not only in the Indian economy but across the majority of the world economies. The results of model specification proved the presence of both long-run and short-run relationships between GDP and employment by the Johansen co-integration test in the Indian economy over the period. It has been found that the increase in GDP is negatively influencing the employment level by the VECM model as a 1 per cent increase in GDP results in 0.28 per cent of job losses in the Indian economy. This study aims to provide an overview of several approaches to economic growth and employment that have been popular throughout economic history up to the present, with an emphasis on linking and delinking aspects of economic growth and employment. In the context of an economy, economic growth and employment are two distinct aspects that should be tackled with separate economic strategies.
本文旨在概述经济史上流行的各种经济增长和就业方法,重点关注印度经济中国内生产总值和就业之间的联系和脱钩。本文采用半对数二次模型来研究选定国家的国内生产总值和就业趋势。为确定变量之间的联系,研究采用了 Engel 和 Granger(1987 年)颁布的格兰杰因果检验法,以及 Johansen 和 Julius(1990 年)和 Johansen(1992 年)基于最大似然法的技术。

This study investigates optimal hedging ratios for Islamic and conventional stock markets during the COVID-19 pandemic using the DCC (Dynamic Conditional Correlation), ADCC (Asymmetric Dynamic Conditional Correlation), and GO-GARCH (Generalized Orthogonal GARCH) models. The effectiveness of various financial assets as hedges is evaluated, and findings indicate that the DJCOM (Dow Jones Commodity), VISTOXX (Euro STOXX 50 Volatility Index), and VIX (Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index) indices exhibit superior effectiveness across both market types, particularly DJCOM showing exceptional performance during the COVID-19 period. The hedging analysis indicates that the hedge ratios vary and depend upon the hedge instrument included in the portfolio. Furthermore, the empirical results indicate that the global impact of the pandemic diminishes the viability of one of the six assets as a safe haven instrument. In conclusion, these findings provide valuable insights for investors and portfolio managers aiming to utilize Gold, Brent, VISTOXX, VIX, CDS (Credit Default Swap), and DJCOM for portfolio rebalancing to mitigate risks associated with volatile Islamic and conventional stock returns. These conclusions contribute significantly to helping investors adjust their investment strategies more effectively and adapt to changing market conditions.

Farmers everywhere depend on access to good quality seed, which is fundamental to their crop production systems. Most governments have made significant investments in strengthening national agricultural production capacities, yet farmers in developing countries still face difficulties in accessing the quality seed of the varieties that they require. Guaranteeing farmers’ access to quality seed can only be achieved through a viable seed supply system that can multiply and distribute seeds, which have been produced or preserved. This is better achieved by the private sector, but medium- to large-scale international seed companies concentrate on high-value crops and avoid dealing in the self-pollinating, open-pollinating and vegetative-propagated varieties on which most smallholder farmers depend for their food security as the biology of these crops makes it easy for farmers to keep their seeds for several seasons. However, smallholders are often seen as the driving force of economic growth, poverty reduction and food security. This is also true for smallholder seed enterprises, which, in the absence of large companies, provide a valid alternative for the production and distribution of food security crops. This paper reviews case studies on smallholder seed enterprise in Côte d’Ivoire, as well as relevant world literature in order to identify key issues that facilitate or constrain the development of the seed sector. The final section provides some guidelines on policy design and implementation to promote the development of sustainable seed enterprises at different stages in the evolution of national seed sectors. It provides examples of good practices and hence seeks to assist governments in identifying ways in which they can support the development of smallholder seed enterprises that will provide the most appropriate varieties to smallholder farmers in their efforts to boost food production.

The primary motive of this paper was to investigate the impact of Foreign Direct Investment on economic growth of Nigeria from 1985 to 2022. Ex – post facto research design was carefully carried out; annual time series data were extracted from Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin of 2021 and World Development Indicator. Real Gross Domestic Product (RGDP) was used as the dependent variable proxy for economic growth. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Exchange Rate (EXCR), Trade Openness (TOPN) and Inflation (INF) all denoted for explanatory variables of the study. The estimated coefficients of the variables under study displayed that all the variables are integrated of the same order 1(1) exception of Foreign Direct Investment which was integrated of order 1(0). The bound test conducted showed that there is proof of the presence of a long run correlation among the variables used while the causality test clearly showed that FDI granger causes economic growth in Nigeria under review. Other diagnostic tests seen in this paper are unit root test, descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient matrix, Cointegration test and test of Normality respectively, and they long-established the validity and reliability of the model used. Based on the inferential results revealed by the research work, the paper came up with recommendation that government should improve the investment climate for both domestic and foreign investors through adequate infrastructural development, soft loans and tax holidays.
