This qualitative study, based on Alfred Schütz's Sociological Phenomenology, investigated the meaning of the concept of health for nurses during consultations in an outpatient clinic at a teaching hospital in Rio de Janeiro. The objective was to understand how nursing professionals apply the concept of health in consultation practice, specifically in the Basic Care Unit (BCU) of the São Francisco de Assis Teaching Hospital (HESFA/UFRJ). Seven nurses with at least two years of experience in nursing consultations participated. Phenomenological analysis of the interviews revealed that the meaning of health for nurses involves adapting to the client's needs and the available tools, aiming for problem-solving and teaching-learning. The concept of health was understood as the possibility of achieving physical, mental, and social well-being, adapting to the environment as a citizen. The study showed that nurses seek to go beyond technical skills, using multidisciplinary team actions, demonstrating the relevance of Alfred Schütz's comprehensive sociology for nursing care and teaching.

Em 2019, o tema da principal exposição do Metropolitan Museum of Art em Nova York foi “Camp: Notes on Fashion”, cujo impacto trouxe o camp para um novo público. O Camp é perceptível como sensibilidade, gosto, estilo ou estética, sua existência está vinculada a teatralidade, o esteticismo, artificialidade, exagero, satira, e ironia. Provando-se ser um recurso vital para excentricidade, estigma social, sexualidade não ortodoxa e subversão da identidade de gênero. O artigo se objetiva em apresentar o camp, a partir de uma metodologia bibliografia, analisa pesquisadores do tema e suas percepções de o que é camp. A pesquisa explora o camp agregado ao âmbito da moda e a subversão às convenções típicas de vestuário, de estética e gênero, questionando os padrões sociais em uma linha tênue entre sério e o frívolo, o elegante e extravagante, artificial e natural. Para ilustrar essa afirmação, é analisada a presença camp nos trabalhos de Franco Moschino.

Considerada como sendo a verdadeira ‘porta do processo educativo’, é notório que a educação infantil precisa se desenvolver contemplando a utilização dos recursos tecnológicos em sala de aula. Isto porque no mundo atual, as crianças possuem uma interação constante com as tecnologias, desenvolvendo habilidades nas quais superam os adultos. Assim, não há como se desenvolver a educação infantil excluindo esse tipo de recurso. A não inserção das tecnologias nessa modalidade educativa configura-se numa pretensão de se desenvolver um processo educativo desconectado da realidade. Independentemente do tipo de mídia utilizada, as tecnologias são importantes para a educação infantil, pois são ferramentas indispensáveis nos dias atuais que aliadas ao conhecimento do educador proporcionam o desenvolvimento das crianças. Trata-se de uma revisão de cunho bibliográfica com o objetivo de discutir o uso das tecnologias no processo de ensino e aprendizagem da educação infantil.

Discussing chronic diseases is a complex task, and it is extremely important to study them, especially to effectively address these issues, especially from an interdisciplinary perspective. The reasons are diverse: an interdisciplinary approach allows for a more comprehensive understanding of these factors and how their interaction can influence both the development and progression of these pathologies. Chronic diseases not only present a challenge to healthcare systems around the world, but also have significant socioeconomic impacts. Given this scenario, it is essential that countries and international organizations work together to implement effective measures for prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases. Therefore, considering that these diseases have no cure and require lifelong medication, SUS health costs increase. Intense health education is necessary, especially in primary care, aiming to encourage a healthier life, physical activity and monitoring, when necessary, with the multidisciplinary team.

Hospital infections are defined as those infections acquired after, during and even after the patient’s hospitalization, which are related to hospitalization or invasive procedures. Through studies of infection control programs, it is possible to observe the importance of nurses’ actions in preventing hospital infections. Therefore, the objective of this book chapter was to present the contribution of nursing to the well-being and safety of patients in situations of risk of hospital infections. This is a narrative literature review, carried out between October and November 2023. The question that guided the present study was: What is the relevance and importance of nurses’ actions in the face of hospital infections and their responsibilities regarding patient safety? in this case? The search engine ‘Google academic’ was consulted to search for materials published in the literature, where 11 articles were read in full, but only 06 were selected to compose the work sample. Nurses are primarily responsible for and most involved in patient well-being and safety, and those most involved in the prophylaxis and control of healthcare-related infections. In the scenario of infections, the systematization of nursing care is fundamentally relevant for the prevention of this condition, as well as for its treatment. Health institutions must continue to promote educational actions to improve effective techniques for reducing health-related infections.
