Child labour remains one of the key issues hindering the efforts of governments and international organisations to ensure that children across the world achieve quality education. This paper examines the effects of child labour on the educational achievement of basic school students in the Tamale metropolis and how some victims have achieved educational success despite the potential threats of child labour. The research was anchored on human capital theory and social cognitive theory. The design used for this research was a case study. The approach used in gathering the data from forty-two (42) respondents was a qualitative approach. A semi-structured interview guide and a focus group discussion guide were the instruments used to gather the data. The data was analysed using a thematic approach. The research found that poverty, peer influence, cultural and social norms, gender roles and norms, and the culture of fostering are the factors influencing the activities of child labour in the Tamale metropolis. The research also found that reduced learning time, poor academic performance, and school dropout are the effects of child labour has on the educational achievement of victims. The paper also revealed that individual determination and support from families, communities, teachers, NGOs, and state institutions are necessary in facilitating the efforts of victims in overcoming the woes of child labour and achieving educational success. The paper believes that economic interventions alone are insufficient in dealing with child labour and advocates for a holistic approach that challenges gender roles, addresses societal norms, and creates a supportive environment for the education of every child in Ghana.

Prior studies of service justice’s influence on customer’s behavioral intention and word-of-mouth have been conducted in many fields, such as business and marketing, while the influence in golf tourism marketing needs to be examined. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship among golf caddies’ service justice, word-of-mouth of golf resorts and behavioral intention of golf tourists in China. 417 data were collected by convenient sampling method and analyzed with SPSS and Amos, using correlation analysis, structural equation model analysis and meditation test. The findings supported (a) the positive influence of golf caddies’ service justice on golf resort’s word-of-mouth and golf tourists’ behavioral intention, (b) the positive influence of word-of-moth on behavioral intention and (c) the partial mediating effect of word-of-mouth between service justice and behavioral intention. Hence, the structural relationship above was explored and empirically proved.

The Department of Social Welfare (JKM) reported 5572 child maltreatment cases until November 2022. According to the Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff, the welfare department recorded a total of 336 child maltreatment cases in various categories involving day care centers, register and unregistered nurseries and kindergartens were reported in year 2021 to 2022. Child maltreatment or child abuse is defined as “all forms of physical, emotional ill-treatment, sexual abuse, neglect or negligent treatment or commercial or other exploitation, resulting in actual or potential harm to the child's health, survival, development, or dignity in the context of a relationship of responsibility, trust or power” (World Health Organization, 1999). With alarming statistics nationwide for several years consecutively, child abuse cases have sparks outrage to many; police, media, politicians, authorities, UNICEF representative and Tunku Mahkota of Johor. Taking the concept of IHSAN (care and compassion) under Malaysia MADANI, this study is timely and appropriate. Therefore, this conceptual paper analyzes the concept of integrity and child maltreatment at child care centers in Malaysia

Objective: We investigated the feasibility and acceptability of establishing a therapeutic poetry writing workshop in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting, as well as the impact of participation on measures of mood, hope, and recovery orientation. Methods: Participants were recruited from the inpatient psychiatric units of an academic medical center. As a pre/post measure of effect of the poetry intervention, participants completed the Herth Hope Index (HHI) and the Mental Health Confidence Scale (MHCS) at baseline and follow-up, as well as a Brief Mood Survey (BMS) immediately before and after each instance of participation in the poetry workshop. Student’s t-tests were used to assess for changes on HHI, MHCS, and BMS, as well as to compare the before vs after in these metrics for individuals who attended only one workshop session versus those who attended two or more sessions to assess for dose-dependent effect of the intervention. Workshop participants also optionally completed a satisfaction survey of their qualitative experience of the group. The protocol for leading a workshop is described in detail. Results: There was a statistically significant improvement in multiple subscales of mood according to the pre- and post-measures on the BMS. Results of the HHI indicated a trend toward increased hopefulness. Results of the MHCS showed statistically significant improvement in participants’ confidence in managing day-to-day life with a mental illness. Results of satisfaction surveys indicate that participants had an overwhelmingly positive experience of the group. Conclusions and Implications for Practice: Workshops designed to foster writing and sharing poetry in a group format are likely to be clinically helpful to improve mood for patients in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting. Future research may examine the adaptability of this intervention for outpatient and virtual settings. Impact and Implications: We conducted a poetry workshop for patients in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit. Participation in the workshop even just once provided a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in multiple subscales of mood and confidence in managing day-to-day life with a mental illness. Our study describes in detail the protocol for a mental health clinician to recreate a similar poetry workshop in their own clinic or hospital.

This study aimed to investigate whether errors made by minority group members could influence the behavior of the majority in a role-reversed version of Asch's conformity experiment. Eighty-five undergraduate students, comprising 51 males and 34 females, were organized into groups of four individuals who were already acquainted with each other. From these groups, we randomly selected twelve, and discreetly instructed the third student in each group (a confederate) to provide incorrect responses on six out of the nine line-judgment tasks, similar to Asch's majority's behavior. The findings revealed that groups with the confederate member did lead to an increase in errors from other group members, although this increase did not reach statistical significance. Nevertheless, further analyses indicated that participants were more likely to make errors when other group members had already responded incorrectly. Consequently, we interpreted these errors as a form of social conformity, where participants intentionally made mistakes to alleviate the awkwardness of having only one member of the group providing incorrect answers. In summary, this study provides insights into the dynamics of social conformity and the impact of minority errors on group behavior in a role-reversed Asch experiment.

The study assessed how football coaches and players appraised and coped with stressors they experienced or encountered. Specifically, the study assessed the following: (1) stress appraisal mechanisms employed by coaches and players, (2) coping mechanisms adopted by coaches and players, and (3) association between stress appraisals and coping styles among coaches and players in the Ghana national football league. Employing the descriptive survey design, census sampling was used to select 424 footballers and 44 coaches who answered the Stress Appraisal Measure (SAM) and the Modified Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced (MCOPE) inventories. Descriptive statistics (means and standard deviation) and multivariate multiple regression were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that football coaches and players reportedly used more controllable-by-self and challenge appraisals and employed more problem-focused coping styles (increasing effort, active coping, and planning) than emotion-focused coping styles (seeking social support for emotional reasons, venting of emotions, and self-blame) during stressful situations. Further, those who used facilitative appraisal mechanisms adopted functional coping mechanisms and vice versa. Sport psychologists are encouraged to organize regular psychological training workshops on a variety of functional coping styles (e.g., cognitive restructuring, planning, increasing effort and active coping) to help football coaches and players deal with the demands associated with competitions to enhance their psychological well-being.

The business model of the press, in general, and radio, in particular, remained almost unchanged until the 1990s; however, the situation changed with the arrival of the Internet. Therefore, this article aimed to investigate the influence of the antecedents of the business model—value creation, people, strategy, technology, convergence, interaction, and people—of radio stations, taking into account the influence of the Internet on their performance. To this end, a quantitative, descriptive study was carried out with data collected through a survey of Brazilian radio stations with an Internet presence. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. According to the quantitative data from the survey, the most important antecedents were convergence, strategy, and interaction, and there is a relationship between the business model and the performance of radio stations with an Internet presence.

The Malaysian government has developed many programmes to encourage entrepreneurial activities among university graduates, aiming to provide them with the necessary information, skills, and mindset to start successful and enduring firms. Despite these efforts, the rate of graduates involved in entrepreneurship remains low. With the rising unemployment rate in the country, worsened by the difficult economic conditions following the COVID-19 pandemic, it is crucial to promote business endeavours. This study aims to assess students' understanding and approval of entrepreneurship-related topics in connection to their personal entrepreneurial tendencies and characteristics due to the pressing nature of the issue. 252 undergraduate students took part in the study by filling out self-administered questionnaires. The study showed a significant link between individuals' perception of their own expertise and their willingness to embrace entrepreneurship-related matters, which in turn impacts students' tendencies and traits associated to entrepreneurship. The pupils showed a strong inclination towards entrepreneurship, displaying characteristics such as open-mindedness, excellent cooperation, self-motivation, and a competitive spirit. These insights will help colleges develop entrepreneurship programmes to provide students with more entrepreneurial education and inspire them to pursue business opportunities.

The policy of decreasing the local currency is considered one of the most important policies to achieve external balance by increasing exports and reducing imports. The exchange rate of the Egyptian pound has deteriorated compared to the US dollar in light of the liberalization of the economy from about 2.1 LE/$ in 1990 to about 3.4 LE/$. in 2000, then to about 5.95 LE/$ in 2010, and exceeded LE 8 in 2015, reaching about 8.88 LE/$ in October 2016. The problem of the study is the emergence of positive and negative effects on the national economy in general and the agricultural sector in particular, and the problem of high prices has led to Local demand for goods, especially agricultural and food, and the occurrence of fluctuations in the volume of agricultural trade and the agricultural trade balance affect the national economy, The research generally aims to measure the impact of changing the exchange rate on the production requirements for cotton and sugar beet crops in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate by achieving the following sub-objectives: studying the productive indicators for cotton and sugar beet crops in Egypt and Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, studying the impact of liberalizing the exchange rate on agricultural production requirements in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, a study Productive problems of cotton and sugar beet crops in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate The study relied on the descriptive and quantitative analytical method to estimate and explain economic phenomena related to the economic and social effects of liberalizing the exchange rate on production requirements, using the descriptive analysis method to describe the problem, in addition to the quantitative analysis method using some different measurements such as the general trend. The United States of America (USA) has no official religion, and its constitution establishes a separation between state and religion. Hence, public schools should maintain such a separation in their relationship to religion. However, historically, legally, and politically, this has been difficult, contentious, challenging, and complicated. Secularism has served as a balance to protect schools from religious intrusion and religion to keep the state from influence and control at bay. This paper briefly explains the seemingly watershed moment created by the US Supreme Court ruling enabling families in the state of Maine to obtain subsidies in the form of school vouchers to be applied toward tuition in religious private schools, thus breaking a legal tradition of denying public funds for their use for tuition covering of educational institutions sponsored by religious organizations. This paper introduces different dimensions for analyzing these relationships and explains a few legal and educational developments, legal rulings, and students’ rights.
