THE INFLUENCE OF HORAY LEARNING MODEL ASSISTED BY VIDEO MEDIA ON STUDENTS’ LEARNING OUTCOMES 视频媒体辅助下的霍雷学习模式对学生学习成果的影响

This research aims to determine the effect of the Course Review Horay learning model using video media on science learning outcomes for class IV at SD Negeri 43 Palembang. This research uses an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design, namely nonequivalent control group design. The population in this research was 42 class IV students and the research sample of 42 was taken using a nonprobability sampling technique. Data collection used tests with data analysis using the Independent Sample t Test with the help of SPSS version 25. The results of the study showed that there was an influence of the course review horay learning model on the science learning outcomes of class 4 students at SD Negeri 43 Palembang. In the Independent Sample t Test testing was obtained. Sig value (2-tailed) 0.020 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the use of the Horay course review model on the science learning outcomes of class IV at SD Negeri 43 Palembang

EXPLORING TUTORS’ STRATEGIES IN TEACHING SPEAKING AT PPB IAIN SYEKH NURJATI CIREBON 探讨井里汶公立大学讲师的口语教学策略

This study, which includes an English tutor and 30 students in the third semester of the class PPB IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, aims to portray tutors’ tactics in teaching speaking to PPB IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and recognize the effects of strategies used by the English tutors. To determine the speaking instruction methodologies, interviews, and classroom observations were undertaken as part of the data collection. The outcome showed that the tutors’ methods included drills, role-plays, speaking lines, and discussions. As a result of the teacher's speaking techniques, pupils get more engaged in their studies, develop more optimistic outlooks, and become more motivated. Almost all of the students prefer the speaking lines as the method of teaching speaking among the three tactics used by the teacher because they believe it can enhance their speaking skills, increase their desire to talk and make the teaching-learning process more enjoyable.

THE STUDENTS’ PERSONALITY BASED ON THEIR READING ATTITUDE 从学生的阅读态度看他们的个性

This research aimed to know and analyze students’ personalities based on their reading attitudes and identify the reading strategies frequently used by students. The research was conducted at SMP PGRI 1 Palembang using a qualitative method. The data were collected through observation, surveying using two questionnaires (a personality questionnaire and a reading strategy questionnaire), interviews, and documentation. The research sample consisted of 30 students from class VIII.1 at SMP PGRI 1 Palembang in the academic year 2022–2023, even semester. Based on this research, it was found that 24% of students in class VIII.1 have a conscientiousness personality characterized by being organized, responsible, and disciplined. Furthermore, 43% of students use a global reading strategy that focuses on overall text comprehension. These findings indicate a relationship between reading attitude and students’ personalities, with conscientiousness and global reading strategy dominating. The implication is that this research provides important insights for the development of effective learning strategies to enhance students’ reading skills at SMP PGRI 1 Palembang.

UNVEILING THE BENEFITS OF ENGLISH-SPEAKING CLUB: INSIGHTS FROM STUDENTS AT ONE HIGHER SCHOOL IN PALEMBANG 揭示英语俱乐部的益处:巴伦望一所高等学校学生的见解

This qualitative case study aimed to explore students' insights of practicing English speaking through participation in an English-speaking club. The three student participants in this research were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Research data were collected through semi-structured interviews using open-ended questions. Thematic analysis was then employed to analyze the data. The findings indicated that participating in the English-speaking club helps students get a supportive environment for practicing their English-speaking skills through conversation, presentation, speech, storytelling, debate, and other various speaking activities. They experience fellowship and friendship among club members, receive moral and emotional support for their views and opinions, gain more confidence and encouragement to speak English, have more opportunities to express their ideas and thoughts in English, develop their English vocabulary and expressions, receive feedback and corrections from fellow members, and have fun with their English speaking practices.

LISTENING MATERIALS IN ENGLISH TEXTBOOK: QUALITY REVIEW 英语教材中的听力材料:质量复习

The objective of this study was to assess the quality of listening materials in the English textbook "Work in Progress: Buku SMA," published by Pusat Perbukuan in 2022. The research focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the listening materials based on a set of criteria developed by Zhang (2020). The research question formulated was, "What is the quality of the listening materials in the English textbook?" The methodology employed in this research was content analysis. The data were collected through document analysis, and the researcher organised and classified the data into eight criteria. After categorising the data according to the seven criteria, the researcher analysed the data chapter by chapter. Finally, conclusions were drawn based on the findings. According to the results, out of the eight criteria, five were fully met, one was partially met, and two were not met. Therefore, it can be concluded that the listening materials in the English textbook "Work in Progress" are deemed "effective."

STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION OF BLENDED LEARNING IN UNIVERSITY INSTITUTION: A CASE STUDY OF THE STUDENTS AT ENGLISH DEPARTMENT OF PGRI UNIVERSITY 大学院校学生对混合式学习的认知:以pgri大学英语系学生为例

Due to a scope and scale with the main focus on social presence this research is aimed at exploring social presence, students’ perceptions of social presence and the implementation blended learning.  The research was employed as mixed method research approach along with a questionnaire.  The main objective included determination of English as Foreign language students’ perception of blended learning by participants’ including a total of 73 judgmental statement clauses.  Also this study was helped by 17 students as the voluntary interviews.  The findings of this study were derived from the results obtained through the questionnaire and interviews among students with a conclusion that most of the students strongly appreciated the blended learning of social presence in increasing interaction among members and improving writing and speaking exercise activities.  However there was no big distinction in social presence between a blended learning class and a traditional face-to-face class.  And among factors that affect social presence the students ranked the top three important factors including the lecturer closeness and humor and his/her feedback work.  Also the list have three important ones which are shorter forum discussions and peer feedback.

The main objective of this thesis was to find out the effectiveness of using clustering technique in improving students' writing ability to the eighth grade students of state junior high school 2 of Makarti Jaya. The method of used in this study was the experimental method. In the other words, experiment tries to compare one or more groups which are given the treatment, and other groups that is not given the treatment. The population of this research was students the eighth grade students of state junior high school 2 of Makarti Jaya with 46 students. The writer took two classes that were class 8A and 8B using purposive sampling technique. The data of this research were collected by written test: giving pre-test and post-test to the students sample. The collected data were analyzed using t-test formula. The result of the data analysis showed that the two-tailed-test with 22 (df) had a critical value of 0.000 at the 0,05 significant level. Because the t-value of 1,645 was higher that the t-table, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Students in the experimental group were able to improve their writing skills through descriptive writing as a result of their treatment. It also means that clustering technique was effective to improve the students writing ability to the eighth grade students of state junior high school 2 of Makarti Jaya._____________________

Students in the experimental group were able to improve their writing skills through descriptive writing as a result of their treatment. The objectives of this study are to find out whether or not; (1) There is a significant effect of Mad Libs technique on Students’ Learning Achievement in Learning Personal Pronouns (2) There is a significant contribution of the Mad Libs technique on Students’ Learning Achievement in Learning Personal pronouns? This research used factorial experimental designs.  These designs are essentially modifications of either the posttest-only control group or pretest-posttest control group designs. The sample was the students of PGRI University of Palembang. Two classes were chosen in which first class was experimental with male students was applied and the second was the second experimental group trained by Mad Libs with female students. The results showed that the First, Mad Libs technique affected the students’ learning achievement in learning Personal Pronoun at PGRI University. The result of t independent test was the mean of the experimental group was higher than the mean of the control group. It could be concluded; the experimental group and control group were significantly different and the Mad Libs technique was effective to use in improving students’ achievement in learning personal pronouns.  Second, there was an interaction effect of the Mad Libs technique and students’ learning achievement toward achievement in learning personal pronouns.

The aim of this study was to examine the impact of utilizing cliff board media on student learning outcomes in a first-grade class at SDN Rawadadi. The research method employed was experimental research, specifically utilizing a Pre-Experimental Design known as the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population for this study consisted of 20 first-grade students at SDN Rawadadi, and the entire population was selected as the sample. The results of the calculations indicated a T-count value of 5.748, which is greater than the T-table value of 1.734 in the T-test sample. Furthermore, the sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.000, which is less than 0.05, meeting the prerequisites for hypothesis testing. Therefore, the hypothesis was accepted. Based on the hypothesis testing data, it can be concluded that the utilization of cliff board media has a significant impact on student learning outcomes.
本研究的目的是研究使用悬崖板媒体对SDN Rawadadi一年级班级学生学习成果的影响。采用的研究方法是实验研究,具体采用了一组前测后测设计的实验前设计。本研究的人口包括20名SDN Rawadadi的一年级学生,整个人口被选为样本。计算结果表明,T-count值为5.748,大于t检验样本的t表值1.734。此外,sig(双尾)值为0.000,小于0.05,满足假设检验的前提条件。因此,假设被接受。根据假设检验数据,可以得出悬崖板媒体的使用对学生学习成果有显著影响的结论。

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING TEACHING AIDS ON STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN INCREASING INTERACTION IN LEARNING 使用教具对学生学习成果的影响,以及增加学习互动的效果

Learning English is generally hindered by the limited use of visual aids. As a result, students' understanding of the English language is not fully achieved, and the learning process becomes less active due to a lack of interaction between teachers and students. Therefore, it is necessary to incorporate teaching aids to enhance student learning outcomes after using unit teaching aids. This research employed an experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Design. The study was conducted in Class V at SDN 69 Palembang, where the VA class served as the control group and the VB class as the experimental group. Data on understanding the concept of measurement were collected from the results of pre and post-tests administered to both groups. The data analysis revealed that the average score of understanding in the control group during the initial test was 54.38%, which increased to 71.04% by the end of the test. On the other hand, the average score in the experimental class during the initial test was 52.95%, which improved to 80.23% by the end of the test. Therefore, the effective use of unit teaching aids benefited the Class V students at SDN 69 Palembang.
