Nodular hidradenomas are benign sweat gland-derived tumors that can produce clinical and dermatoscopic misdiagnoses. Histologically, these tumors can be classified into eccrine and apocrine subtypes. Clear cell hidradenoma is a rare benign eccrine tumor, it’s representing 1% of all skin tumors, found mainly in adult females. The lesions are usually solitary and are most likely to be found on the scalp, face or anterior trunk. We report a case of clear cell hidradenoma developing in the inguinal area in a 68-year old man, which occurred during the course of nine months. The clinical and histologic findings of the tumor are documented. The lesion was totally removed by excision and revealed no evidence of recurrence. Through this case, we would like to highlight the unusual location of this hidradenoma.

Material and methods: Albino rabbits (1.5-2.5 kg) of either sex were divided into three groups with six animals in each group. Group I received the standard chow diet; group II rabbits received HFD; and group III rabbits received HFD supplemented with aqueous MC fruit extract (100 mg/kg). After 14 weeks of the experimental period, animals were fasted overnight and blood was taken for estimation of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density cholesterol (HDL-C) and homocysteine.

It was a 55-year-old taxi driver with an antecedent of chronic solar exposure since childhood, admitted in our department for the management of a purple tumor on the right earlobe evolving for 6 months after handling a hair, painless and non-pruriginous. The dermatological examination showed the presence of a 4 cm purple tumor located at the right earlobe with infiltrated basis, and a small ulceration in the center, the dermoscopy objectified the presence of purple laguna separate by fibrous septas with an ulceration and a rainbow pattern, the diagnosis of angiokeratoma, epidermised botriomyoma or kaposi disease was evoked, other diagnosis was cutaneous metastasis of a renal or hepatic tumor or a melanoma. Histology with immuno histochemistry confirmed a nodular-type melanoma, an extension assessment was performed revealing pulmonary and hepatic metastasis, oncological management was preconized.

Glomus tumor is an uncommon tumor arising from the glomus cells. They are usually noted in subungal locations. They are extremely painful to pressure, exposure to cold, and even to touch [1]. The pain increases on application of pressure with the tip of a pencil over the precise area (Love’s sign) [2]. Treatment of choice for glomus tumor is surgical excision. Also, sclerotherapy as well as laser therapy with CO2, pulsed dye and Nd: YAG can be employed. Recurrences are noted due to local invasion of tumor [3]. Since the diagnosis of glomus tumors remains difficult to remember based on clinical criteria, dermoscopy can help. The dermoscopic finding previously reported in the literature include a discrete linear vascular structure on the nail plate and numerous telangiectasias ramified on the nail bed and matrix [4], an altered pigmentary network and a pinkish hue [5]. However, these results are not universal. In a recent report, instead of the pinkish hue, a homogeneous white discoloration of the nail plate was observed [6]. Thus, dermoscopy can be helpful in screening glomus tumor, however, the role of histopathological examination remains essential to make the diagnosis.

The examination was performed with a photofinder dermoscope then dermlite by simple transillumination of the cutaneous epithelium illuminated by the dermoscope light.

Bone allografts are being widely used in field of periodontology, many of clinicians are unfamiliar with their preparation and processing as well as their use as safe and effective graft materials. The major issues associated with these materials are antigenicity and risk of disease transmission from donor to recipient. To minimize the risk, the production of an allograft and its distribution and implantation requires strict attention to detail through a comprehensive process. With an increasing requirement in clinical practice for bone grafting procedures, there is an increase in patient’s demands for assurance that bank bone will not be infected with pathogens. To ensure the patients, surgeons should be able to cite factual information and recommendations by responsible organizations regarding safety of allografts. Knowledge of human bone allograft procurement, processing, and tracking may allow dentists to better educate patients and address concerns about this valuable treatment option. The purpose of this review is to update about the procurement, safety and efficacy of allografts.

A 45-year-old woman presented with a five-year history of paresthesia of both hands and feet, along with modification of facial features. On physical examination, she had coarse ‘leonine like’ facies, with thickened skin of face and eyelids, her face had multiple nodular lesions that coalesced into plaques, especially on the forehead. She had madarosis and a saddle-nose (Figures 1 and 2). We also observed strabismus, ulcers on hands and feet with a swan neck deformity of fingers (Figures 3 and 4). After the strongly suggestive hypothesis of lepromatous leprosy, we performed a skin biopsy which confirmed the disease. The patient underwent standard anti-bacillary multidrug therapy for 12 months, with good improvement.
