DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A HOSPITAL BIOMETRIC DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM 医院生物特征数据管理系统的设计与开发

The need to drastically reduce the delay faced by patients before they receive treatment in the University Clinic and the need to reduce the occurrence of medical mistakes due to patient’s misidentification led to this work which aimed at developing a hospital biometric data management system.Java was the programming language of choice and Netbeans was the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) used to design the Graphical User Interphase (GUI) and write codes. For the backend database, MySQL was used for demonstration purposes. The analytical diagrams were drawn using VioletUMLEdit. The Griaule Fingerprint Software Development Kit (SDK) was used to implement the fingerprint capture, enrollment, identification and verification features of the software.The tests and results obtained showed that with this hospital management system, the time taken to retrieve patient’s record has been reduced from several minutes to less than five seconds thereby eliminating the delay experienced by patients during search of their records. The problem of medical mistakes due to patient’s misidentification was also addressed by the biometric feature of the management system.

ENERGY EFFICIENT TRANSMISSION USING OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORK: ISSUES AND CHALLENGES 利用光接入网进行节能传输:问题与挑战

Everlasting increase of connected devices and users in communication networks carry out enormous traffic volumes. This reason places the network in a position to fine tune the energy consumption in proposal and attentive operations. Optical transmission technologies are a momentous paradigm which brings down the overall energy consumption in communication networks. This advantage increases an interest on research to improve the energy saving opportunities of optical networks. Regardless of this most vibrant research few unanswered questions direct the researchers to set effort on resolving the issues in energy efficient optical networks. Shannon limit and parallelism to support higher capacities is essential in approaching optical systems also without reducing the network performance parameters such as latency, reliability and survivability, energy consumption of optical networks must be laid out as it affects quality of services. New generation network services like optical cloud and fixed mobile convergence have necessity to meet out the end-to-end energy optimization. All these factors enlighten research area towards energy efficiency in optical network transmission. This special research work reconnoiters and consolidates the earlier research models related to energy efficient transmission in optical networks

EXAMINING THE IMPACT OF DEBT MATURITY TIME, EXPECTED RETURN AND VOLATILITY ON PROBABILITY OF DEFAULT IN CREDIT RISK MODELLING: THE CASE OF MERTON AND MKMV MODELS 信用风险模型中债务到期时间、预期收益和波动性对违约概率的影响:以默顿模型和MKMV模型为例

In order to model default risk, this article examines the impact of debt maturity time, volatility, and expected asset return on probability of default (PD). The study compares the probability of default produced by the Merton and Moody's KMV (MKMV) methodologies and add modifying time, volatility, and expected return on assets to see how they affect the probabilities of default produced. It utilizes the balance sheet from Apple Inc. (AAPL) recorded from 2019 September 29 to 2022 September 29 for the current and total liabilities and asset values in order to calculate the Probability of Default. The process begins by determining the distances to default (DD) for Merton and MKMV using the balance sheet, and then use the DDs to determine the likelihood of default (PD). Results indicates that, the MKMV approach compares favorably to the Merton approach.

THE EPIDEMIC CONTROL PROCESS, THE CORONA VIRUS, MATHEMATICAL MODELING 疫情控制过程,冠状病毒,数学建模

In the present work, a study is made of the development of epidemics, in particular the one referring to the epidemic transmitted by SAR CoV 2; a model is developed through a system of Differential Equations that simulates this process, the system is simplified, if it makes a qualitative study of the trajectories of the system giving conclusions regarding the hole behavior of the trajectories, thus proving control of the epidemic; a critical case is treated and an example is presented that responds to the conditions of the introduced critical case, graphically proving the conclusions demonstrated analytically.

RANDOM WAYPOINT MOBILITY ROUTING ALGORITHM FOR MOBILE SENSOR NETWORKS 移动传感器网络的随机航路点移动路由算法

Mobile Sensor Network an emerging trend in recent network platform. Random waypoint mobility routing proposed on virtual infrastructure based mobile sensor network. Routing is highly challenging task in mobile sensor network, in which the random waypoint model used to ascertain through put and energy depletion. Sensor network classified into multiple regions. Scheduled time slot is assigned for data transmission in between source to sink. Routing table is periodically updated with its neighborhood information. In order to discovers sink node random waypoint mobility routing algorithm checks either clockwise or anti clockwise in the region to find an optimal route for reliable data transmission. In comparison to other cutting-edge cluster-based routing protocols, the effectiveness of the suggested technique assessed using the essential network characteristics. In addition proposed algorithm reduces normalized routing overhead and reselection of region head by varying the node density in the network.

Stock returns have a mixed distribution, which describes Gaussian and non-Gaussian characteristics of the stock return distribution, according to the solution of the Schrodinger equation for the quantum harmonic oscillator. As a model for the market force, A quantum harmonic oscillator which uses a stock return from short-run oscillations to long-run equilibrium will be suggested. We will calculate fitting errors and goodness of fit statistics by analysing the All-Share Index of the National Stock Exchange of India.

DESIGN OF LIGHTWEIGHT ELECTRIC VEHICLE AND APPLICATION FOR EFFICIENCY CHALLENGE MARATHON COMPETITION 轻量化电动汽车设计及其在能效挑战马拉松比赛中的应用

Many vehicle manufacturers have started up the development and production of electric vehicles reducing in response to climate change, increasing air pollution and exhaust emission problems. In addition, the most important of the difficult problems associated with electric vehicles is the high cost caused by the use of a large number of batteries and the use of a limited number of batteries negatively affects the driving distance of the car. The limitations caused by the battery problems are not only to increase the cost but also increase vehicle load because it takes up too much space and limits the usage area of the vehicle. In order to address these problems, electric vehicle manufacturers have tried to find a way to reduce the weight of the vehicle body. Therefore, to reduce weight, it would be more accurate to use light metal alloys that could get better results than using polymer composites in this study 6063 series aluminum alloy box and tube profiles were used as chassis materials, and birdcage chassis production was carried out by combining these profiles with MIG welding. After production is completed, the steering system, brake system, suspension system and other moving parts are installed on the chassis. As a result, the final weight of the vehicle was 210 kg and the negativity that may occur was prevented.

BACK-TESTING APPROACHES FOR VALIDATING VAR MODELS 验证变量模型的反向测试方法

Value at risk (VaR) is one of the important market risk measures. It measures the possible potential loss on given investment in terms of value, with certain probability for certain time horizon. In this paper, our aim is to discuss different back-testing approaches to validate VaR models, and also test it the real market data. We back tested VaR of Nifty 50 index obtained by Variance Co-variance method, Historical simulation method, Monte-Carlo simulation, and cubic polynomial regression method. We have used Total exceptions by binary back-testing over entire population. we have also used Basel Traffic Light Zone Test, Kupiec POF-test, Kupiec TUFF-test, and Haas’ Mixed-Kupiec test and analyzed the above methods.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF BANDWIDTH OPTIMIZATION IN IPV6 HEADER COMPRESSION ipv6报头压缩中带宽优化的性能评价

The development of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) came with a larger header size of 40-Byte compared with the 20-Byte of Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) which would have made IPv6 protocol a bottleneck in data transmission over the global network. Practically, given the same user data transmitted over the same physical-layer network medium in both IPv4-enabled and IPv6-enabled networks, the network speed would be slower in the IPv6 setup compared to the IPv4 scenario, but network bandwidth is optimized with the in-built header compression technique in IPv6 which makes it advantageous over IPv4 and being deployed in the recent Operating Systems and networking devices including switches and routers. This performance evaluation is focused on the effect of varying header sizes on a packet transmission by determining both maximum packet throughput and header overhead percentage. These metrics were determined after the simulation of the packet transmission in MatLab vR2021a. The results were then validated with a simple ping command in a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network connection between two Windows 10 Computer Systems using Ethernet Category 6 cable. The output shows that despite the higher header size in IPv6, data transmission using the protocol is at faster rates, and this is due to the inherent header compression feature in IPv6.

PROXIMATE, FUNCTIONAL AND PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF BASELLA ALBA FLOUR AND BASELLA ALBA PROTEIN CONCENTRATE 白底菌面粉和白底菌浓缩蛋白的近似、功能和理化性质

This study aimed at determining the proximate, functional, and physicochemical properties of Basella alba whole flour (BWF) and Basella alba protein concentrate (BPC) for use as food ingredients with a view to improve their utilization by producing concentrate from its protein content which will serve as a cheap but abundant source of protein. OAU farm provided fresh Basella alba leaves. The stalk was quickly cut off, and the leaves were cleaned under running water to get rid of any mud or dirt that had stuck to them. Following cleaning, the leaves were dried in an oven for 4-5 hours at 60 °C. The powdered leaves were then sieved through sieves with a mesh size of 60 to 80. (Basella alba whole flour). The whole flour was used to prepare the concentrate by combined process of insolubilisation, neutralization and lyophilisation. The resulting flour was subjected to proximate, functional, and physicochemical properties determination. The results of the functional properties revealed that Basella alba protein concentrate (BPC) exhibited higher bulk density, water absorption, Oil absorption capacity and emulsifying properties when compared with BWF. This implies that that BPC will find better application as food ingredient. The proximate composition's findings revealed that the BPC has higher protein content than the BWF. In conclusion, the study revealed that Basella alba protein concentrate can be used as protein fortification and enrichment owing to its favorable protein content.
