Goal. Evaluate the effectiveness of different schemes with the use of isolates and growth promoters separately and in a mixture on different potato varieties on an artificial infectious background of Alternaria spр. Methods. Field research, small-town. Monitoring the development of alternaria in the vegetative period of potato plants, and the main diseases of the tubers – during the storage of the crop, in accordance with generally accepted methods. The studied varieties – foreign selection (Carlene, Gala and Riviera). The scheme of the experiment included 9 options: 1- control; 2- Poteitin; 3- Simpto; 4. Masterpiece; 5- Ass-Selective; 6th Masterpiece + Simpto; 7- Masterpiece + Poteitin; 8- Ass-Selective + Simpto; 9- Ac-Selective + Poteitin. Results. During the years of research, the varieties of Gal and Riviera were less affected by alternatives than the Carlene variety. It was established that the treatment of potato tubers before planting under the combination of the preparations Ac-Selectiv + Simpto increased resistance to alternaria and had a positive effect on all investigated varieties of potatoes, the disease developed from 5,1 to 5,6%, and the distribution from 20,6 to 30,2%. It was found that potato tubers of the Galа and Riviera varieties in all investigated variants during the harvest were affected by fusariosis (the disease developed from 1,86 to 3,24%) and parasley common (the disease developed from 0,94 to 3,24%). Potato varieties of Carlena variety were affected by fusariosis, common scab, rhizotoniosis and alternaria. Diseases of Fusariosis and Alternaria have affected tubers in all treatments and controls. The defeat of tubers with fusariosis was 1,88 to 3,24%. The defeat of parasites was from 0,91 to 1,64%. Defeat of tubers by diseases of rhizoctoniosis and alternaria was observed in the variants of the experiment: control, Poteitin, Simpto, Masterpiece and Ass-Selective. Defeat by rhizotoniosis was in the range from 0.50 to 0,90%, alternatively – from 0,50 to 1,0%. The same chemists in combination with growth regulators appeared to be more effective for the Carlene variety, and there were no rhizoctoniosis and alternariae. Conclusions. The effectiveness of the action against Alternaria spр.. on plants of three varieties and fusariosis, the first common, rhizoctoniosis and alternaria on potato tubers. Continuation of research in 2019 will determine the most effective options for potato processing, which will ensure the high efficiency of protecting plant potato from illness.

Goal. To determine the effectiveness of promising fungicide compositions for controlling the pathogens of fusariosis in seed treatment and their effect on the productivity of winter wheat. Methods. Field, against the background of artificial infection Fusarium spp. The preparations were used in the treatment of winter wheat seeds of the Smuglyanka variety (BBCH 00) before sowing, and also during the flowering period — VVSN51. Statistical processing of research results was performed by analysis of variance using Excel. Results. For prolonged protection of the zone of the root system of seedlings of plants, the effectiveness of treating compositions was studied, which include components with a low level of metabolism and apical transport, as well as fungicidal treating agents — derivatives of the class of triazoles, imidazoles, benzimidazoles, second-generation succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors and phenylpyrroles with insecticidal protectants. It has been established that for seed treatment, the use of fludioxonil-based preparations is effective. The level of control of Fusarium pathogens increased with the introduction of a composition of fludioxonil with sedaxan and insecticidal components. Tebuconazole and compositions of tebuconazole with prothioconazole and diphenoconazole are effective for controlling spike fusarium. Conclusions. The most reliable protection of crops from Fusarium infections is the formation of agrophytocenosis with a low level of infectious background due to the reduction in the rotation of the areas of donor crops Fusarium spp. Minimization of soil cultivation contributes to the spread of pathogens of Fusarium. The key elements for obtaining healthy sowing are the introduction of cultivar-resistant varieties and hybrids resistant to Fusarium spp. And the use of highly effective fungicides and their compositions, including succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors, with insecticides during the growing season.

Goal. To investigate the influence of plant growth regulators (PGR) and microfertilizer as plant resistance inducers for reducing the development of cucumber diseases in film greenhouses. Methods. Field and laboratory. Results. Analysis of the activity of total peroxidase showed a positive dynamics of activation of this enzyme - an increase of 1,2 – 2,2 times, which is 14,3 – 54,6%. It was the highest in the version with the use of Epin extra and salicylic acid. For the third day after plant treatment, the enzyme activity increased to 74.7-75.1 mg-ekv/g·s, Due to increased plant resistance, a decrease in the level of infestation of cucumber plants is noted. Depending on the drugs, the intensity of development of root rot in the average years of research was kept within 12.3-17.7 % at 30.5 % in the control. The smallest development of root rot was observed after application of microfertilizer CompleMet – 12.3 %. Treatment of plants by growth regulators led to a decrease in the level of damage of cucumber by downy mildew. The smallest development of the disease was noted in variants with Vimpel Maxi, Epin extra and CompleMet – 8.5% at 13.7% in control. Conclusions. The tendency to increase the level of activity of peroxidase in cucumber plants after treatment with plant growth regulators is revealed, which indicates an increase in the activity of one of the key non-specific protective reactions and, consequently, unspecific plant resistance. The effectiveness of PGR on the basis of humic acids, biologically active substances and microfertilizer CompleMet as an inducer of plant resistance to diseases has been established. The most effective against root rot is microfertilizer CompleMet – 60 % among growth regulators: Vimpel Maxi, salicylic acid, Epin extra (biological efficiency – 56, 55, 52 % respectively). Influence from the action of PGR against downy mildewis observed at the initial stages of disease development. A noticeable effect is observed when applying Epin extra, Vimpel Maxi and CompleMet (biological efficiency – 38%).

Goal. To provide information about dangerous pests of vegetable crops — thrips. To describe the morphology and biology of the pest, the methods of spreading and harmfulness, provide information on the necessary phytosanitary measures to restrict its development and reduce the harmfulness, and to justify the need to use alternative biological methods to control the population of thrips in the conditions of the Southern steppe of Ukraine on an example of the most common of them — tobacco thrips (Thrips tabaci Lind.). Methods. Informational and analytical. The collection of information was carried out in accessible specialized literature and the Internet. Results. The information about sucking pests of vegetable crops - thrips is given. Thrips are known for a long time, they belong to wide polyphages, that is they harm a wide range of cultural and wild plants (from 100 to 400 spesies). On an example of the most common of them — tobacco thrips (Thrips tabaci Lind.) there is given information about the morphology and biology of the pest, the methods of its spreading and harmfulness, as well as the information on the necessary phytosanitary measures for restriction its development and reduction of the harm. This most widespread and dangerous polyphage, due to its close connection with plants, where its entire life cycle develops - from eggs to imago, has inhabited almost all greenhouses. In the natural conditions of the southern region of Ukraine, the tobacco thrips were found on large areas of vegetable crops with the seedling method of their cultivation, mainly cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, watermelons, and the like. It harms bulbs in vegetable stores, which leads to a deterioration in the quality of garden plants and gardening material. The reaction of the plant to the damage by the trips is desensitization, which is manifested in growth retardation, distortion and loss of turgor of damaged leaves, which later become yellow and dries. Imago winter, mostly females, in greenhouses - in different slits, and in open ground - in the upper layer of soil at a depth of 7-10 cm, under plant remains or in the rootstock of perennials or weeds. At temperatures below 0 ° С and in the absence of snow cover, insects die. The pest spreads at all stages of development - eggs, larvae, imago - with planting material of vegetable crops (with plants or in soil), transport, containers, workers' tools, their clothes or footwear. This also occurs when collecting, packing and selling contaminated products. This is especially true for cabbage, with which the thrips can get to the greenhouse or indoor plants. In the conditions of the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, the tobacco thrips can develop in open soil at temperatures over 10 ° C during the growing season from the second decade of May to the end of September, causing significant damage to vegetable crops. If this is the case, the pest can give 3-4 to 5-6 generations, depending on the weather condi

Goal. To establish the factors of negative influence of weeds on plants of culture in the process of their joint vegetation. Task: to determine volumes of absorption of compounds of mineral nutrition by weeds. Methods. Common and special methods: Field - study of the influence of conditions of cultivation and agro measures on productivity indicators of millet; laboratory - definition of quantitative and qualitative characteristics; statistical - the establishment of mathematical models and statistical dependencies between the investigated factors and processes. Results On average, over the years of research, weed plants yielded 95 kg / ha of nitrogen for the density of crops of millet, 50 pct/m2, and the increase in the density of cultivated plants to 100-150 pct/m2 contributed to reducing the removal to 45-32 kg/ha . At the same time, the minimum indices of nitrogen weeds planting on the wheat grassland crops were 200 pct/m2 - 24 kg/ha, respectively. The removal of phosphorus at the density of crops of millet crops of 50 pct/m2 was 57,7 kg/ha of phosphorus, and from an increase in the density of cultivated plants to 100-150 pct/m2, the reduction of the removal was reduced to 27.8-19.9 kg/ha. At the same time, the minimum indices of removal of phosphorous weeds by plants on the crops of millet were the density of 200 pct/m2 - 14.4 kg/ha, respectively. Conclusion. The conducted studies allowed to determine that, on average, over the years, weeds of plants per hundred cubic meters of poppy-stalks produced 109 kg/hectare of potassium, while increasing the density of crops to 100-150 pct/m2 contributed to a decrease in take-off to 51.8 -37.1 kg / ha. At the same time, the minimum parameters of the removal of potassium weeds by plants on millet crops were 200 pct/m2 - 27.2 kg/ha respectively

Goal. Determine the main ways of entry into the country of the dangerous quarantine type of eastern chestnut walnut-fruit (Asian chestnut gall Trach). Methods. Analytical informational messages of the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO), as well as data of EU phytosanitary services, literature and Internet resources. Results. Information is given on the new economically important species of Dryocosmus kuriphilus Yas., which is rapidly spreading in the countries of Europe. In Ukraine, the eastern chestnut nut walnut has a quarantine status. The threat of entering the species Dryocosmus kuriphilus with planting material (seedlings) of certain types of chestnuts from European countries in Ukraine exists. The absence of natural enemies contributes to the active resettlement of the pest. The focus should be on the study of the entomophages of the walnutworm. It is known that in Japan it is found in 26 species of parasitoids that control reproduction, in China — 11, in Korea and Italy — 15 species. The rapid spread of the pest in the EU is of great concern to scientists. The lack of natural enemies, as well as effective drugs approved for use, threaten the disappearance of chestnut plantations. The experience of some European countries shows that it effectively regulates the number of its specialized Torymus sinensis parasitoids, which was introduced into Europe from China and Japan. Conclusions There is a danger of entering into Ukraine the species Dryocosmus kuriphilus, which has quarantine status and is a threat to chestnut plantations.

Goal. Carrying-out of a pest risk analysis (PRA) for Ukraine in relation to Cydia inopinata Heinrich (Manchurian moth) — pest of fruit and ornamental crops, according to the EPPO standard PM 5/3 (5) and improvement of methods for assessing the probability of acclimatization of adventive pest organisms beyond existing areas using modern computer software. Methods. Information and analytical, building electronic maps using GIS technologies. Results. There are cited information about the dangerous quarantine pest of fruit crops C. inopinata absent in Ukraine. The ways of possible penetration of the pest into Ukraine were shown, as well as the presence of host plants on the territory of the state are determined and the climatic conditions corresponding to the possibility of settlement and acclimatization are established. The overall pest spreading rate (increase of the infected area) is difficult to estimate. The possibility of natural distribution of the Cydia inopinata is moderately low, and by the anthropogenic way it is very high. Importation of a pest is possible with fruits that are infected with caterpillars of the Manchurian moth from countries of the pest areal. Plants — the owners of C. inopinata are found throughout Ukraine. They are grown for the production of fruits (on a commercial basis or in private gardens), for decorative purposes (in parks, gardens, in urban greening), found in nature or planted in forest belts. Areas with a high density of host plants are more favorable for the settlement of the pest than those with a low density. Due to the adaptation possibilities, the pest can increase the range of plants — hosts in Ukraine. The area of the Manchurian moth is located in several climatic zones: from the subtropical climate in southern China to the sharply continental in Transbaikalia. The compliance of the climate of the central part of the pest area with the climatic conditions of all regions of Ukraine will contribute to the acclimatization of the pest. The absence of extreme winter temperatures, which are characteristic of part of the range in Siberia and in the north of China, will contribute to an increase of the pest population and its harmfulness. The potential habitat of C. inopinata can be almost the entire territory of Ukraine. The main economic impact in the case of local outbreaks will be in farms engaged in the production of fruit products. Electronic maps of the probable area of the Manchurian moth in Ukraine have been built. A pest risk analysis of C. inopinata Heinrich (Manchurian moth) was carried out according to EPPO PM standard 5/3 (5). It was proposed to provide the pest with the status of a quarantine organism absent in Ukraine, to include the species in the A1 list and make changes to the “List of regulated pests of Ukraine”. Conclusions. The high probability of acclimatization of the Manchurian moth in Ukraine is due to the compliance of the climatic conditions with the pest distribution area and a hug

Goal. The effect of temperature on fertility and the timing of the embryonic development of the chestnut moth under laboratory conditions was studied. Methods. Laboratory. Selected pupae of the chestnut moth were placed in thermostats (at a temperature of 15, 20, 25, 30). Then, 5 pairs of pupae of different sexes were placed in glass cages in which the paper was pre-inserted, as a substrate for egg laying. Experiments were performed in four versions — 10 replications each. Cages with each variant were placed in polythermostats at temperatures of 15, 20, 25 and 30°С. After the butterflies flew out, the paper was taken out of the cage regularly (every two days) and under a microscope of MBS-9 (eyepiece 0.6 magnification 2), the number of laid eggs and caterpillars that hatch were counted. The results were processed statistically by standard methods for biological data. Results. It was determined that at a temperature of 15°C 50% of caterpillars were released from 40 eggs. At 25°C, out of 187 laid chestnut moth eggs, 65% of caterpillars were released. At 20°C, butterflies laid aside 83 instances. 54% of the caterpillars were released. At 30°C, the female chestnut moth was set aside on 17 instances eggs whose embryonic development has not occurred. It was revealed that at 15 and 30°С females are the least active, thus, optimal temperatures for keeping the chestnut moth in laboratory conditions are in the range of 20—25°С. Under these conditions, butterflies mate and lay eggs, the survival rate of which reaches 54—65%. The technique makes it possible in the laboratory to investigate the influence of environmental factors on the state of the chestnut moth population. Findings. It was determined that in laboratory conditions the optimum temperature for the deposition of chestnut moth eggs is 25°C. Butterflies favor the green substrate. Embryonic development lasts 6.1 ± 0.12 days, the survival rate of the populations is 25%. The method of obtaining chestnut moth eggs allows for in-depth experimental studies of the influence of environmental factors on the state of the chestnut moth population.
