In the DC distribution network connected to the middle voltage AC system, when the three-phase load of the AC system is unbalanced or an asymmetric fault occurs, there will be an AC component in the power flowing into the DC bus, which will cause ripples in the DC bus voltage The component affects the power quality of the DC distribution network and threatens the normal operation of the electrical equipment in the DC distribution network. Therefore, on the basis of the original bidirectional DC/DC converter, this paper adds a compensation capacitor and additional inductance on the low-voltage side to realize the separation control and output of the energy storage current and the ripple suppression current. Aiming at this improved SC topology, a VPI control-based energy storage converter control strategy is proposed, which realizes the non-difference tracking of the ripple voltage. Finally, a DC distribution network simulation model with VSC converter, DC load and DC battery energy storage was built in Matlab/Simulink. Under the premise of safe operation, by comparing with the original proportional outer loop voltage control, the DC distribution network voltage with smaller ripple is obtained, which verifies the advantages of the control method proposed in this article.

The electromagnetic environment of transmission lines has an important influence on the HVDC transmission project. In high altitude environment, the problem of electromagnetic environment is more serious because the line corona discharge is more intense. In the traditional research, the electromagnetic environment test of DC line generally does not get a lot of long-term test data. On the other hand, previous methods for predicting the electromagnetic environment of HVDC transmission lines are not sophisticated enough to comprehensively consider the influence of various factors on the electromagnetic environment. Based on the long-term measurement data of DC test lines in high altitude environment, this article uses the method of variable selection to evaluate the influence of different factors on radio interference characteristics, and selects the factors with significant influence, and obtains the influence of different factors on radio interference characteristics through statistical analysis. The results show that the radio interference increases with the increase of equivalent wind speed and decreases with the increase of relative humidity.

Capacitor submodule occupies a large volume in Modular multi-level Converter (MMC) and costs a lot of money. Harmonic injection strategy can often achieve the effect of reducing the voltage fluctuation of the sub-module capacitors. Therefore, it can reduce reduce the construction cost of the HVDC transmission system. On the basis of introducing the basic principle of hybrid MMC harmonic injection and simulation verification on PSCAD platform, this paper introduces the physical platform of four-terminal flexible power grid, including its hardware display and monitoring and testing interface, showing the diversity of real-time data acquisition methods. Finally, through the experimental research on the implementation of the hybrid MMC harmonic injection strategy by FPGA, the modulation wave, the conduction number of the sub-module, the capacitance voltage of the sub-module and other physical quantities before and after the second harmonic injection are compared and analyzed. It is verified that the second harmonic injection can change the shape of the voltage modulation wave. At the same time, the second harmonic injection can reduce the voltage fluctuation of the capacitor of the sub-module and realize the lightening from the perspective of reducing the capacitor demand.

The condition of gas chamber is significant for the health of a circuit breaker. Analysis of SF6 decomposed products is one of the effective and non-intrusive methods to assess the condition of gas chamber. The electrical life of a chamber can be tested through large current breaking test. However, few researches focus on the SF6 decomposed products generated from the life endurance tests. To solve this issue, this research adopts an non-intrusive method to follow the generation process of SF6 decomposed products under the tests. The method is based on tracking the SF6 decomposed products as the circuit breaker under test is in operation. Additionally, a SF6 gas chromatography was designed to record and analyse the changing trends of SF6 decomposed products. The results show that CF4, CO, COS, CS2, SO2, H2S, can be seen as the typical composition products generated by the effect of large electrical arc, and CF4 and CS2 can be used to assess the state of gas chamber, especially for nozzle state. Moreover, the erosion of organic materials dominates during large arc breaking tests due to high thermal effects.

When there is a severe asymmetric offshore ac fault in the grid-connected system for full-scale type-4 wind turbines via the high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system based on modular multilevel converters (MMC), there will be transient overcurrent in the MMC and the grid side converters (GSC) of wind turbines. In order to prevent transient overcurrent, a negative sequence coordinated current control strategy is proposed in this paper. The method of decoupling circuit characteristics and control characteristics is adopted to study the asymmetric fault characteristics of this system. The levels of the negative sequence current during severe asymmetric ac faults are analysed. The key influencing factor of the negative sequence currents is extracted. And the feature that the negative sequence currents of the MMC and the GSC cannot be suppressed to 0 simultaneously is revealed. Based on the above reasons, the control strategy that the negative sequence current of the MMC is suppressed to zero and the GSC cooperate to reduce the positive sequence current thus reducing the current stress of the bridge arm is proposed. Finally, an electromagnetic transient model was built on PSCAD to verify the effectiveness of the control strategy.

Broadband transient voltage measurement is the most direct means to master the fault characteristics of new power system. In view of the fact that the traditional measurement method based on mutual inductance principle is limited by the measurement frequency band and cannot accurately measure the transient voltage, this paper designs and implements an integrated optical electric field sensor (IOES) based on Pockels effect, which has the characteristics of wide frequency band, strong antiinterference ability and good insulation, and takes the IOES as the core to form the electric field measurement system, The input and output characteristics of the electric field measurement system are given. In order to apply the IOES to the on-line monitoring of transient voltage, the stability of temperature and humidity of the electric field sensor is theoretically analyzed, and the measures to improve the stability are put forward.

Multi-terminal HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current Transmission) technology is one of the effective technologies to solve the shortage of transmission corridors and connection issues of large-scale renewable energy grid in China. The function of a High Speed Switch (HSS) is to implement on-line switching and fault isolation of the third station in a multi-terminal HVDC system. However, 800kV HSS still relies on importation and 800kV HSS has become a “neck-jamming” equipment for the development of the multi-terminal HVDC transmission system. In order to obtain the core technologies, this paper first briefly introduces the roles of a HSS played in a multi-terminal hybrid HVDC project, and summaries the operating conditions and key technical parameters. Secondly, this paper focuses on the long-term arcing tolerance ability and DC breaking capability without oscillation circuits required by a 800kV HSS. Further, its research and development status are investigated. Finally, suggestions for the future research directions are given for 800kV HSS localization.

In this paper, an integrated single-phase dual-supply boost inverter (DSBI) with high reliability is proposed. The proposed inverter has two input sources, in which the two power supplies can supply power simultaneously or provide energy to the output terminal respectively. the proposed inverter has the advantage of reducing devices, which requires only four active switches and has the inherent features of shoot-through immunity. Moreover, it is not necessary to set the dead-time in PWM signals, improving the quality of the output ac voltage. By a simple unified modulation for the proposed converter, the functions of boosting and inverting can be realized. The steady-state analysis, operating principles, and parameter selection guidelines are provided. The proposed topology has been verified in a 250W prototype with satisfactory results.
